Information For Librarians
CCMS · Cross-Cultural Media Studies
We encourage research librarians to list this journal among their library's electronic journal holdings. As well, it may be worth noting that this journal's open source publishing system is suitable for libraries to host for their faculty members to use with journals they are involved in editing (see Open Journal Systems).
CCMS is a fully open access journal. All articles are immediately and permanently free to read, download, and share under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license. There are no subscription fees, embargo periods, or registration barriers for any user.
CCMS is committed to the long-term preservation of its content. We participate in the following digital archiving initiatives:
- PKP PN (Preservation Network) – ensures content remains accessible even if the journal ceases operations.
- CLOCKSS – a distributed archive system with participating libraries worldwide.
- Portico – digital preservation service for e-journals and e-books.
All metadata are also harvested by major indexing services and repositories (DOAJ, Scopus, Web of Science, Google Scholar).
Libraries can access usage statistics for CCMS content through the following:
- Institutional reports available via OJS usage statistics plugin (aggregated views and downloads by country, institution, and time period).
- We provide basic COUNTER‑compliant statistics upon request (contact the editorial office).
- All article‑level metrics (views, downloads, citations) are displayed on each article page (optional for readers).
For institutional usage reports or SUSHI endpoint setup, please email ccms@starnexus.press.
CCMS operates a double‑blind peer review process. We accept submissions directly through our online system (no third‑party submission fees).
For institutions wishing to set up automatic deposit of published articles into their repositories, we support:
- SWORD API – for bulk deposit of final published PDFs and metadata (contact us for API credentials).
- OAI‑PMH – metadata harvesting endpoint at
https://j.starnexus.press/index.php/ccms/oai.
All articles are assigned a DOI and can be easily linked from institutional discovery systems.
CCMS is currently indexed in the following databases:
- DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals)
- Scopus (under evaluation)
- Web of Science (ESCI – Emerging Sources Citation Index)
- Google Scholar
- CrossRef (DOIs)
- PKP Index
- BASE, CORE, OpenAIRE
We apply for inclusion in additional abstracting services annually. Updated list is available on the Indexing page.
Librarians can help us grow by:
- Adding CCMS to your electronic resources list (A‑Z list).
- Encouraging faculty and students to submit and review.
- Linking to our journal from your library website or research guides.
For licensing inquiries (e.g., setting up a reading list or using articles in course packs), note that all content is CC BY 4.0, which allows unrestricted reuse with attribution. No separate license is required.
