Prof. Giurgiulescu is a distinguished food biotechnologist and fermentation technology expert at the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania. He holds a PhD in Horticultural Sciences (Viticultural Biotechnology) from the University of Craiova. His research spans food biotechnology, fermentative technologies, wine technology, microbiology, and food safety.

With over 76 published articles (including 25 in ISI-indexed journals), 4 specialized books, and an H-index of 11, Prof. Giurgiulescu brings extensive expertise in biotechnological processes and quality control. He has completed an international specialization at the Jules Guyot Institute in Dijon, France (World Bank program), and serves as a peer reviewer for multiple international journals.
