Editorial Roles & Benefits

Frontiers in Intelligent Medicine & Health · Trust-Based Scholarly Collaboration

The relationship between FIMH and each Editorial Board Member is not employment, not servitude, but an equal partnership built on academic trust and shared scholarly interests.

All FIMH Editorial Board Members are personally invited and actively engaged in substantive academic work. We do not accept any form of honorary or nominal appointments. Every board member's academic identity and responsibilities are publicly disclosed on the website and verifiable through our forthcoming verification system.

Genuine · Transparent · Verifiable

I. Core Responsibilities of Editorial Board Members

FIMH Editorial Board Members' responsibilities are grounded in genuine academic collaboration, with all terms predicated on actual participation. We explicitly oppose honorary or nominal appointments and have established mechanisms to ensure each board member's contributions are traceable and verifiable.

1. Manuscript Handling and Peer Review

  • · After the editorial office completes initial screening, plagiarism checks (similarity ≤ 15%), and formatting review, manuscripts are assigned to your research area.
  • · Your dedicated assistant will help invite 3-4 reviewers. If no suitable reviewers are found within one week, you will serve as the reviewer.
  • · You will synthesize reviewer comments (review period 2 weeks) and formulate clear accept/revise/reject recommendations for the multi-level decision process.
  • · AI-Assisted Review: The system provides preliminary quality assessments, reviewer recommendations, and structural consistency checks, but all final decisions are made independently by board members and the Editor-in-Chief.

2. Academic Solicitation and Special Issues

Assist in planning special issues or sections around your research expertise, and recommend or invite high-quality manuscripts.

3. Academic Ethics Oversight

Remain vigilant against potential academic misconduct during peer review, collaborate with the editorial office using iThenticate and other tools, and handle cases in accordance with COPE guidelines.

4. Journal Promotion, Outreach, and Solicitation

Promote the journal through your academic network and recommend potential authors or reviewers. If you recommend a manuscript, please ask the author to include "*Editorial Board Member Recommendation" in the cover letter.

II. Term and Withdrawal Mechanism

Term: 3 years, renewable upon mutual agreement. Annual performance reviews are conducted to ensure the vitality of the editorial board.

Withdrawal: You may withdraw at any time for any reason. We will respect your decision, update the website list promptly, and express our gratitude for your contributions.
